The Coldest Day of the Year in the Twin Cities Calls for a Science Experiment

Yesterday, my mom told me to try throwing a pot of boiling water in the air today, when there would be the lowest temperatures of the year in the Twin Cities. Apparently, my dad had done this experiment when I was a child, but I had forgotten about it. When I woke up this morning, I noticed the sunlight would be perfect for this experiment, so I decided to do it. I made this YouTube video at 10:03 a.m. on January 23, 2026, when the temperature was -19 degrees Fahrenheit (or -28 degrees Celsius) in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Note that this was the temperature, not the wind chill (the wind chill was significantly colder). This video marks my first attempt at this science experiment.
